Transfers
Move your domain. Keep your site online.
A transfer changes who manages the registration — not where your site or mail is pointed. Nothing goes dark while it runs.
Before you start
- 60 days since registration A registry rule, not ours. Newly registered or recently transferred names are locked.
- Registrar lock removed Turn off "transfer lock" or "clientTransferProhibited" at your current registrar.
- Auth code in hand Also called an EPP code or transfer key. Your current registrar must supply it.
- Reachable admin email The registry sends the approval request to the WHOIS admin address.
Process
What happens, and when
Most transfers complete in five to seven days. That window is set by the registry, not by us — we cannot shorten it, and neither can anyone else.
Enter the domain and the auth code. We validate both against the registry before taking payment.
Before anything moves, we import your existing records so resolution is identical on the other side.
The registry emails the WHOIS admin address. Approving it here shortens the wait considerably.
Your current registrar has five days to object. Silence counts as consent, so nothing is required of you.
The name lands in your account and we add a year to the registration at no extra cost.
Transfer pricing
A transfer costs one year, and adds one year
You pay a single year's registration, and the registry adds a full year to whatever time is already on the name. Time already paid for is never lost.
